I Never Knew Food Science Could Taste So Good!

" When I first went to The Bazaar on my birthday, I was astonished by how spectacular it was."- Becca

Small portions are always fun! You can have a little of this and a little of that, and even try something new. Jose Andres’ restaurant in Beverly Hills at the SLS Hotel is called The Bazaar. A lot of their dishes are based on food science, and are something you have never seen before. Everything they have there is fresh, different, and tastes incredible. It is amazing how the use of food science can alter the taste or look of a food.

I normally go to The Bazaar on special occasions, but I wish I could go more often. It is my favorite restaurant by far, and the food is unique and fun.

When you walk into the restaurant, you see all sorts of things. Unlike the standard restaurant, there are different kinds of tables, couches, and chairs. There are pictures all over the walls that really give the restaurant a quirky vibe. The interior setting itself is unique, and the restaurant is truly awesome. Every dish I have tried at The Bazaar has a great presentation, and makes you want to try it. Sometimes a presentation or smell doesn’t live up to one’s expectation, but at The Bazaar everything tastes just as good, if not better than it looks. There is no chance that you will go to The Bazaar and not be totally stuffed afterwards.

What I love about The Bazaar’s drinks is that they use liquid nitrogen and cotton candy to give it a cool effect. They also have elaborate non-alcoholic drinks for kids, which I think is nifty.

One fun little appetizer are the cones. They are quite small, but a delightful little bite. There are three different flavors and you cannot make the wrong decision, because they are all scrumptious.

And don’t forget the Philly cheesesteaks. I am not a huge fan of Philly cheesesteaks, but the way The Bazaar makes them is out of this world. A thin layer of bread is filled with yummy runny cheese, topped with roast beef. When you take the first bite into the crunchy layer of crust, there is an explosion in your mouth of deliciousness. When the cheese flows onto your tongue, you will find that you must take another bite. This dish is addicting, and very enjoyable.

Another of my favorite foods there is the bruschetta. The bread is always toasted perfectly, and not too thick. The tomatoes go perfectly with the crispy toast, and the ham and cheese are laid out nicely. They give a great extra touch to the dish, and it is a good plate for the table to share.

The Bazaar’s Gazpacho is like no other. It comes with a fun little set up, and the croutons and tomato pieces they throw in gives your mouth a surprise when you take a sip. It is the most delicious Gazpacho I have ever tasted, and the vinegar is not overpowering like in lots of others I have tried. It is fresh and tingles your tastebuds.

A dish you can not go without is the Tortilla De Patatas. When I went to The Bazaar the first time, this is one of the first things I put in my mouth. It is the most delicious potato dish you will ever taste. The egg goes great with the foamy potatoes, and overall this appetizer is delectable.

My favorite dish of all time is the baby Japanese peaches. This plate consists of burrata, baby peaches, crunchy croutons, and a delicious sauce. If you end up going to The Bazaar, I would recommend ordering at least five of these. This food is the best thing I have ever put in my mouth. The sweet baby peaches go great with the hazelnut sauce, and the burrata really balances out the sweetness.

The Bazaar’s deserts look amazing. There are so many to choose from, and it is hard to pick just one. The deserts are a great finish to the meal, although not as good as the actual food.

All things considered, this restaurant is crazy and totally fits its name. I rate The Bazaar highly, and advise you to go try it out for yourself!
