Sometimes it's good to have low expectations, because when there are high ones, you can be disappointed.
"Before my dinner at Spago, my parents were talking about how great the restaurant was. My expectations were deceived and we did not have the great experience I was expecting."

Sometimes a restaurant that is known for being great doesn’t always come through. Spago is a fancy restaurant in Beverly Hills, known to have delicious food. Wolfgang Puck opened Spago years ago and is a world famous chef who invented the smoked salmon pizza. I came into Spago with an open mind, having never been there before. I had heard that the restaurant had wonderful food, which made my expectations high. However, at the end of my experience, I was not amazed. Spago definitely did not exceed my expectations.
When we got led to our table, there were only nine chairs. My mom had called beforehand to specifically make sure that there could be ten chairs. This was not a good start to our experience. We had to squeeze in one more chair which made the table a bit crowded. They clearly did not deal with the situation with care, as shown by not bringing another place setting promptly. My mother even had to grab a napkin from a different table. Finally we were settled, and my family started to order wine.
My mom was complaining about the fact that every time the sommelier poured the wine, she spilled it all over the side of her glass. When she drank, it dripped all over. Finally, when we got to ordering, I decided on a truffle pizza. Soon after my order, the waiter came back and told me that there were no truffles. I could not believe it! No truffles? This was completely unacceptable. In despair, I decided to order the lamb. Although I was not excited about my order, the wait was just unbearable. The food took forever, as well as the desserts. Aside from the wait, somebody at the table was trying to get the waiter's attention which took way more effort than it should have, just to get salt. The lamb was good, but not special. The pizza I tasted was terrible because of the lack of flavor, and had to get sent back. Although most of the food was not mind blowing, the thing that stood out to me the most at Spago was the appetizers.
All of the appetizers that I tasted at my visit were simply scrumptious. The appetizers looked as good as they tasted. If you are planning on going to Spago, I would recommend just ordering a bunch of appetizers.
Overall, the service was bad, and the staff was careless. Except for the appetizers, the food was not all that great either. My experience was unpleasant because of all the waiting, and in the end, the huge bill my father had to pay was not worth it.
